Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program. Wendell H. Hall was born April 10, 1923 in Ogden, Utah. He attended Ogden High School and Weber College. He served in World War II and then graduated from the University of Utah with a Master of Arts degree. He received a Fulbright scholarship and studied German Literature at the University of Vienna. He taught school at Weber College, the University of Utah, and Northland College. He later taught Spanish at Brigham Young University. From the description of Newspaper clippings, 1996....
